So for those of you who haven't figured it out yet, I'm an artist. My name is John. I show and sell stuff coast to coast and occasionally you may see my work in a movie or TV show. Thats it in a nutshell but for those of you who want more personal stuff, maybe this will help.
I plan on creating the first ever shop called Bob's Porn, Tattoo, Piercings, Liquor, Hardware, Smoke Shop and Christian bookstore. It’s going to be amazing!! Maybe. I'm very sarcastic and slightly pessimistic. I think I have to disagree with the notion that we learn something new everyday. I know that I've had several days in a row where I didn’t learn anything, and sometimes I've even forgotten stuff. I was born kinda late and I've been late ever since. Life is kind of like sex, either way, top or bottom, you still get screwed. I'm a bit of a procrastinator and I probably won't remember to call you back. I tend to live for the moment and that tends to get me in trouble. I’m pretty good in the kitchen although I sometimes make a bit of a mess...and several little fires. I love to paint. When you first meet me, you will find that I am pretty quiet. But once you get to know me you will realize I am actually really loud. More often than not, I’m thinking of something really profound, or dirty. I read somewhere that sex was bad so I stopped reading. I’m a hopeless romantic who believes that romance is dead. I like the thought of love, although I love the thought of being free (still debating on which one is better). Sex is simple, it’s the love after that stings. I'm the kind of person that will burst out laughing in dead silence about something that happened yesterday. Tomboys are a dirty addiction. If you rub my head, I’ll fall in love with you. My bed is better then yours. Coke is better than Pepsi. Fuck Pepsi!! And while were at it, MACS are not way better then PC’s I like being out with friends. I like watching people. Being cold sucks. At this moment there are approximately 6470818671 people in the world, and sometimes, all you need is one.

Pablo Picasso once said, “Painting is just another way of keeping a diary”. There is much truth in this statement. For me, any one of my paintings bookmarks a place in time. In the same way that a familiar smell might spark a memory, looking at an old piece that I haven't seen in a while can instantly transport me back in time. Just about all of my paintings are taken from the adventures and craziness that seems to surround me. Even many of the more abstract pieces that I've done have some hidden meaning behind them thats relevant to the moment they were conceived.
While I’m normally drawn to bright, vibrant colors, the colors, as well as the images, change with the moods and emotions. Painting for me is a release, a way to vent and express myself. Being an artist isn’t necessarily something I aspired to do, but rather something I surrendered to. It’s not really a career choice, or a job, it’s simply who I am. Money does make it easier but the best reward is when someone, no matter who they are, likes my work enough to simply stop what they are doing, pause for a moment, and just take a look. |
